Mar 07,2007 Meet MVNU AGS Student Kathi Holt
Place of Residence: Waldo, OH
Employer: Children’s Hospital
Position: Manager, Information Services
What do you enjoy doing when you aren’t studying or working? Spending time with my family, ballroom dancing, and boating.
Why do you want to earn your degree? This is has been a long-time goal of mine.
Why did you select MVNU? I grew up in Mount Vernon and was aware of the main campus located there. While talking to a colleague I mentioned that I was thinking about going back to school. She shared that she had graduated a few years ago from MVNU and how she enjoyed the program. So I thought I would check it out … and it’s been one of the best things I have ever done for myself.
What has been your favorite course at MVNU to date? I have thoroughly enjoyed all the courses that I have taken, but my favorite course is the “Foundations of a Biblical Worldview”. At first I wasn’t looking too forward to the course, but now, I am truly convinced that it may very well be the “real” education I was looking for.
What has been the most challenging things about the program so far? The biggest challenge that I had when I started back to school after being out for 20+ years, was resetting my priorities, including work and personal activities to ensure that I could meet the requirements of being a student.
What has been the most rewarding thing about the program so far? There have been so many rewards, including meeting new friends, looking internally and learning more about me and my goals, and increasing my self-esteem by furthering my educational goals.
